Alvin Keppler - « back to About Us

Alvin Keppler of Cathedral Group has many years of self-employment and management experience in the construction industry, achieving his certification as a Licensed Carpenter in 1977. Alvin directed the operations of many residential and commercial construction projects in Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia. He gained a reputation and soon specialized as a problem solver.

Additionally, from 1992 to 1997 Alvin was the General Manager of a manufacturing plant that designed and produced mobility and accessibility aids for national distribution. During this time Alvin was responsible for the development of many new innovative products and he also designed the first new product catalogue in 10 years. The company also repaired and installed mobility aids in many Manitoba communities.

A great believer in the dissemination of information Alvin has worked with and led volunteers as the President and Treasurer of the nonprofit computer user group Muddy Waters Computer Society and the then fledgling organization, Computers for Charities. Other volunteer positions include a second term seat on the Winnipeg Public Library Board of Directors as the Treasurer and Vice Chair.

Alvin is an enthusiastic supporter of the IT sector and currently is the Chair of the Smart Winnipeg Technical Committee. Smart Winnipeg is a not-for-profit organization whose directors where appointed by Mayor Glen Murray, to advise him on how to better use Information Technology as an economic development tool.

In 1997 Alvin formed Cathedral Group, a Management Consulting firm, in partnership with Karen Keppler.
